PASTOR - Dr. Dennis Hankins |
|
Pastor Dennis Hankins has been the shepherd of the church for over 24 years. He and his wife Sherry came to the church in 1984. He has been a lifelong resident of Lawrence County, Ohio. Upon graduating from Rock Hill High School in 1963, he joined and served from 1963 - 1967 as a United States Marine. In 1967, he enrolled in Ohio University, completing his Bachelors' degree in 1970. In that same year, he and Sherry (Reed) Hankins were married. Employed at Rock Hill High School in 1971, the next two decades saw four children, a Masters degree, and a position at several Independent Baptist Churches before the Lord opened the pastorate at Franklin Furnace Independent Baptist Church.
Beginning in 1984 with 30 members, the Lord has graciously and marvelously grown the church to 150 members, with a high on Easter Sunday, 2006, of 178.
Pastor Hankins was saved as a young farm boy at 17. He was called to preach at the age of 28. In May of 1992, he was honored with the awarding of Doctorate of Divinity from the Marietta Bible College. Retiring, when God called, from the principal's office at Symmes Valley High School in 1998, Pastor Hankins has been the first full-time pastor of a vibrant, growing work. God willing, the best years are still ahead. Ps. 37:23 |

|
| Pastor Smith is a graduate of Southland Bible College and comes to us from North Carolina where, for 8 years, he served as Assistant Pastor, along with his wife, Mary. They have 3 children - Cory, Will and Eddie. The Smiths live in Flatwoods, Kentucky. |
